The Moab Easter Jeep Safari is a bucket-list item for any off-road enthusiast, but the vendor show organized by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers (rr4w.com) is like an outdoor department store that caters to all things off-road. It’s also one-stop shopping for all the latest and greatest products to hit the off-road market. Thanks to the Jeep JL Wrangler there was a flood of new JL products, but that’s not all we found that was new and exciting. We spied everything from over-the-top new race parts to a game-changing new manual transmission that every stick-shift lover needs to know about. Check out the coolest stuff we found on display at this year’s show.

Pivotal Jackstand Dolly

We’ve all seen the wheel dollies that allow you to easily move a vehicle around in a shop, but what if that vehicle doesn’t have wheels on it, or even axles? Pivotal Manufacturing offers these pretty sweet dollies that convert a normal jackstand into a dolly. Different sizes accommodate most 3-, 6-, and 12-ton jackstands, and there’s even an Axle Skate version with a slot to engage rotors or drums for easily moving axles around the shop. Info: Pivotal Mfg., pivotalmanufacturing.com.

Offroad Design SCS Magnum

The Offroad Design Magnum has been out for a few years but there’s a new twist on this proven product. Those who build monster trucks and mud boggers are probably familiar with SCS transfer cases, a very simple and virtually indestructible single-speed transfer case that has been around for a long time. KOH racers are finding the limits of even the strongest two-speed cases on the market, and some have turned to SCS for simple, compact, and indestructible solutions. The issue is that SCS cases don’t have low range, but that’s now changed with the release of the Offroad Design Magnum for the SCS cases. Compatible with both SCS straight-through and drop cases, the Magnum provides a compact and incredibly strong solution to having a low range with SCS products. Maxbilt JK LED Taillights

The winters are long and cold in Wisconsin, giving the guys at Maxbilt plenty of time to dream up all kinds of neat products. LED taillights are nothing new, and neither are JKs, but what is new is the nice aluminum casting that Maxbilt has developed to fill the factory taillight hole and accommodate a round LED taillight. It makes for a clean, factory-quality installation. The complete kit includes the plate and the taillights as well as the resistor you need to make the taillights work with the factory JK lighting. Info: Maxbilt, maxbilt.com.

Aqualu TJ Half-Doors

The folks at Aqualu are pretty good at making all kinds of drool-worthy products out of aluminum. Among the company’s latest creations are these half-doors for a TJ. Factory half-doors command a premium if you can even find them, making these fabricated aluminum versions viable alternatives to tracking down original doors. They include hinges and latches, and are ready to paint body color or polish. Info: Aqualu, aqualu.com.

Premier Power Welder JK Alternators

Looking for a serious alternator for your JK? Premier Power Welder has just release 180-amp and 240-amp bolt-on alternators for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JKs. These alternators work with the factory engine brackets, so no modifications are needed. They can be used as a standalone upgrade or can be included with Premier’s portable welding system. Incidentally, the company has also recently released a more compact version of its welding system that has the same capabilities as the original but does not include a power outlet. Info: Premier Power Welder, premierpowerwelder.com.

Power Tank Stiffy Air Chuck

This one solves a minor annoyance with the original design of the Power Tank high-flow regulator: If you leave the bottle mounted on the vehicle and use a coiled air line to reach the tires, certain positions tug at the air chuck and side-load it, causing it to leak. Power Tank now has a solution with the Stiffy, an air chuck that’s mounted on a short length of braided steel line. The configuration allows the chuck to swing in whatever direction the air hose is pulled, keeping the connection straight and leak-free. Info: Power Tank, powertank.com.

Motive Gear Bolt-In JL Driveshafts

Motive Gear announced its entry into the driveshaft market last year at Moab with the introduction of heavy-duty bolt-on replacement driveshafts for the JK Wrangler. These driveshafts replace the problematic Rezeppa-style joints with driveshafts that use traditional yokes, U-joints and constant velocity joints. With the success of the program and the release of the JL with the same problematic stock shafts, the company now offers heavy-duty bolt-in driveshafts for the JL Wrangler, and will soon offer them for the Gladiator. Info: Motive Gear, motivegear.com.

Spidertrax Gun-Drilled Axleshafts

Racing technology usually trickles down to the public, and here’s another example. KOH racers continue to push the envelope, and as a result even 40-spline 300M shafts aren’t strong enough to keep up with the extreme demands. Spidertrax now offers 40-spline gun-drilled shafts built to order. These new axleshafts join some other extreme new products, including 40-spline unit bearings, and revised bulletproof axle joints. Info: Spidertrax, spidertrax.com.

ARB Classic Series II Fridge

ARB has put a new spin and significant updates on its popular line of Classic Fridges. The Serie II fridges are the same size as the previous versions but incorporate a new color scheme and have an improved transit bag available. But the real news is inside: these fridges can now communicate with your phone via Bluetooth, so you can easily keep tabs on the temperature and control your fridge remotely. The Bluetooth communication also works with ARB’s new LINX device. ARB also offers a separate Bluetooth transmitter that can be retrofit to several previous ARB fridge models. Info: ARB, arbusa.com.

JKS Flex Connect

JKS has long been known for its line of sway bar disconnects that allow a tool-free way to disable the sway bar on a variety of vehicles. There are many situations where a sway bar is beneficial off the pavement, and there are also times when a light amount of sway bar input is a big help. JKS offers the Flex Connect for the JK and JL Wranglers for these situations. The Flex Connect is a replacement sway bar link that features interchangeable internal springs that allow the user to “dial in” the amount of sway bar input to be introduced. There is more give than a rigid connection for additional suspension flex, but still some sway bar input to help control body roll and stability. Info: JKS Mfg., jksmfg.com.

Mac’s Custom Tie-Down Anchors

If you strap down a lot of different vehicles to trailers, you know that some suspension and vehicle configurations make finding a solid anchor on the vehicle challenging. Mac’s Custom Tie Downs has an easy solution: a permanent anchor bracket that ensures that you always have a convenient anchor point. The anchor can easily be welded to an axle or frame and is compatible with the hooks on most straps, including the hooks on all Mac’s Tie Downs, of course. Info: Mac’s Custom Tie Downs, macscustomtiedowns.com.

Silver Sport Tremec 5-Speed Transmission

This was probably the most exciting new product we saw at the Moab vendor show. Silver Sport Transmissions, a leading supplier of manual transmissions in the hot rod and street rod market, has announced the availability of the Tremec TR-4050 five-speed manual transmission. Featuring a 6.16:1 First gear and a 0.76:1 Overdrive, it answers the prayers of many off-road enthusiasts. Fully synchronized and featuring a torque rating of 425 lb-ft (at 20,000 pound GVW), as well as a weight rating suitable for typical truck applications, the TR-4050 is nothing short of a game changer for the off-road market. Info: Silver Sport Transmissions, sstshift.com.

Mastercraft Tactical Reclining Seat

MasterCraft Safety seats have long been popular among off-road racers and enthusiasts, and the company has just released a new spin to one of its popular seat models. The new Baja RS Tactical Series features a heavier-duty, more robust fabric that’s perfect for open-air off-road vehicles that see heavy use. Available in a variety of colors, the Tactical Series offers the same reclining and optional features as the conventional Baja RS. Info: MasterCraft Safety, mastercraftsafety.com.

Parts Mike Spindle Seal Kit

Anyone who owns an old-school front Dana 30, Dana 44, or Dana 60 knows that the inner axle seal design is terrible. No matter how good the seals are or how often they are serviced, they always seem to let water in and contaminate the inner spindle bearing. Parts Mike offers a significantly improved design that does a much better job of keeping the water out and the grease in. The seal kit requires no modifications to the spindle or knuckle and simply replaces the stock pieces. Seal kits are available for all three Dana axles. Info: Parts Mike, partsmike.com.

Rockhard 4×4 Bolt-In JL Cage Brace

Rockhard 4×4 has been manufacturing high-quality bolt-in rollcage kits and Sport Cages for many years. The company’s new JL Cage Brace system picks up where the factory left off and offers additional bolt-in rigidity and rollover protection for the JL Wrangler. Designed to supplement the factory roll bar, the Cage Brace adds crossbars over the driver and passenger seats. The company also offers a supplemental system for rear passengers and the cargo area. Info: Rockhard 4×4, rockhard4x4.com.

Magellan-TRX7 Major Update

Though not exactly a new product, Magellan has just rolled out a major new update that adds a ton of features to the popular TRX7, including 3D maps, an improved menu system, enhanced waypoint marks, and a whole lot more. The most dramatic improvement is the 3D map view, which takes the topographical information built into the map system to provide a virtually three-dimensional view on the screen. Traditional 2D and satellite views are retained, but the 3D view makes it easy to pick out geographical features and much more. The update is available free of charge to all owners of the TRX7. Info: Magellan, magellangps.com.
